Kiona was bred by Monteith Ridge and she is a dark solid bay mare with the brown agouti gene that was tested by Pet DNA in the US. This gene darkens up the coat colour of the horse and can be quite striking on palominos and buckskins. She is registered with the NZGCA and transfer fees were paid by the new owner, Jessie McClean, yet it has never been noted on their website and it is still in the last owner's name. She came to us a very nervous and hardly handled young foal and since then we have put the work into her. She is registered on the breeding up program, but we feel she would be much happier and content being a lovely riding horse and her price reflects this.
